I saw Rent yesterday! My parents took me and Josh. Oh my goodness, it was so exciting. I loved it, the music is absolutely amazing. I was excited that there was a trannie too, I had NO idea. Maureen was my favourite though. Man, she's one crazy bitch. We had box seats too! Oh man, so good. I have to admit though, I didn't really like the ending. It seemed a little silly that Mimi was slowly dying because of years of drug abuse and living on the streets, then seconds after she dies she suddenly sits upright, says something completely out of character, and then they all sing and dance again. A little weird. I really liked the slideshow at the very end though, very nostalgic. In all though, it was an incredible production.

I went to work today at 4:30 because my first student cancelled, but then it turned out that 3 other students cancelled at the last minute so I was stuck there from 4:30 to 6:30 with only one half-hour of teaching. I was kinda pissed, I mean... $5 is hardly worth it. If they'd called ONE HOUR earlier, I could've stayed at home. Bitches. Oh well, I browsed music and played broadway tunes for an hour and a half. The Academy didn't have any Rent music though, I was disappointed. 20% off of Rent music would've rocked. I love my employee discount.

Exciting news!I got my grad photo retakes in the mail today. I actually really like them, as much as I hate posed-for pictures. And... that wasn't really exciting news at all.

Rent rent rent! Last year's rent! Rent rent rent! Doo doo doo!

Livejournal livejournal, livejournal livejournal... LIVEJOURNAL!

Yeah, I've decided to resume my LJ. Of course I waited til I've never been busier to do it... but that's okay cuz... uh ... ...

I'm trying to get my portfolio together for Graphic Design at Algonquin. There isn't too much I have left to do, so that's good. I just have to draw a still life and finish my self-portrait. Have you ever tried drawing yourself? It's so freaking hard. It's harder than straight lines and circles (which were, til this not-so-recent discovery, THE hardest things to draw). I had to cheat and draw myself looking down. I hope that's ok.

Today was my second day teaching piano! It's the best job in the world. It's so much fun and all my kids are so cute. They make me happy. They're not worth elaborating on, however.

I was also curious about what people would say to this thing.

"If you read this...
Even if I don't speak to you often,
You must post a memory of me.
It can be anything you want, it can be good or bad,
Just so long as it happened.

Then post this to your journal. See what people remember about your memories."

Of course I don't expect anyone to actually do it... maybe Josh will humour me because he loves me, and maybe Ankit will too just because I did his. Anyone else would be a pleasant surprise.

I suppose that's all for now. Guh-bye.

I hope people still bother reading my LJ...

Heylo LJ, long time no see. Anydiddles,I have this really exciting story: I was on my sister's computer looking through her photo collection for a baby picture of me to submit to the yearbook. How's that for exciting? Ok, here comes the unexpected plot twist: I found a few that I like, and I can't decide. The reason why I hope people still read my LJ is that I want opinions on which picture to use. There are six (, Captain Obvious declared!).

Could somebody also confirm that the address is or is not bellgradwriteups@gmail.com? I will show you ego
I’m jealous now

This past couple weeks have been fun... ah, I love summer. Saw Susan last week- I think it was last week- I dunno, most of you were there. It's so easy to completely lose track of time when you don't go to school every day. Susan, Kate and I slept over at Alice's house that night, and Kate and Alice went to bed earlier than Susan and I so we had some time to talk, just the two of us. We hadn't really had a chance to do that in... wow, almost a year. It was really nice, I miss doing that.

Canadadaday! That was awesome. Andrew Hayden Park is so pretty, very nice for picnicking. Of course the fireworks were crap, but that was deal-with-able. We should go picnic there again. Walked over to Laura's afterwards and watched a large chunk of Jesus Christ Superstar. The music is awesome, I'd only heard a couple songs from it before and now I really want to see it. Not as much as Phantom though, I've been waiting for that to come to Toronto forever. Excited for the movie, that should be supacool. Best music in the whole wide ever.

I finally got around to making plans for Christmas II today, I just wonder how my mom's gunna take it when I tell her that I invited 17 people to stay all night.

Ha.

I think what I'm going to do for the Secret Santa is have people pick names out of a hat-type container and make a Christmas tree deckie for the person they pick, and put it on the tree with the person's name on the back. Then when everyone leaves they find their deckie and take it home. Hee, it's like... grade 3 to the extreme. But it'll be awesome. And extreme. Extreme Christmas deckies. Being a Kinder counsellor has really affected my activity planning skills. But I've taken into account the fact that the party's at the end of July, which means that birthday month from Hell is coming up so people will be spending enough money. You know, one less thing to worry about. Let me know what y'all think.

I think at camp this August I'm going to try to have a Christmas themed week and do the exact same Secret Santa thing on the Friday Theme Day with my Kinders. Aw, yeah... that'll be cool.

You guys are such inspiration.

I got a prom dress!! I'm excited about this. Even though I won't be able to use it for a year. I met Alice, Kate and Ele at Lincoln Fields at 11, and we tried on dresses until about 3:30 or so. Blueagh- I felt so girly, but it was so much fun. The one I ended up getting is yellow (yellow!!), and has teeny little sparkles all over it. It's my Disney princess dress, when I put it on I was excited because I felt like Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Aw man... so much fun.

Today I'm home with PMS from hell. I went to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with Alex yesterday (which was amazing and infintely better than the previous two. I'm sure Alex will elaborate, I don't feel like it right now), walked out of the theater, puked in a garbage can, went to Alex's house, and had Tylenol and tea, went home, went to sleep, woke up, had more drugs, had more tea, watched Muse's Hullaballo concert, and then more drugs and tea. And funny cheese. Blueagh, I want more tea.

Heylo all.
It's been an up-and-down sorta week. Well, mostly up. Last weekend was really awesome, it was mine and Josh's 6-month on Saturday :) We spent a while at his place and then bused over to Centrum, Boston Pizza'd, then headed over to Dow's Lake for fireworks! T'was rainy, but the good kind. The fireworks were awesome, cuz... they're fireworks and they can't not be awesome. Except for the huge finale firework, during which a big coach bus decided to drive directly in front of us. I shoulda taken one of those rockets and shoved it up-
Anydoodles, I got gorgeous flowers. That was pretty sweet of Josh (also good for brownie points with the parents). And that was Saturday.

Sunday was... utterly uneventful. Monday was awesome too, I went out with Josh again to see Shrek 2. It's absolutely hilarious, everyone should go see it. The line-ups were ridiculous though (not surprising, however), the lines for the tickets were way out the doors, and at about 2:30 when we bought our tickets they told us that it was sold out in all 4 theatres for every show until 4:00. And the line for the 4:00 show had already formed and was longer than the one for Eve 6. Holy whack-a-moles. It was definitely worth the hour and 1/2 wait though. After the movie we went and ate at Jack Astor's, where Señor Mr. Piddles was born, and where we learned that William Shatner multiplied by :O = a car... oh, and we ordered the most beautiful ice cream sundae in the whole wide ever. They covered a hugely oversized wine-glass-type-glass in chocolate, and filled it with ice cream, tons of whipped cream, and nuts on top. Oh baby. And so went my Monday.

Can't remember anything that went on Tuesday, other than that Tuesday night was terrible and led to a terrible Wednesday. I hate crying at school, but I couldn't help it. Don't you hate when you think you're okay, but as soon as someone notices and asks you what's wrong, you just can't hold it in anymore? Blueagh. Anyways, poured out a lot of tears, skipped a lot of class. Thank you so, SO much to Alice and Josh for the shoulders and the hugs and the comfort and the tea-and-cookie therapy, I needed it and I appreciated it a lot. And so went Wednesday.

Heylo!

Ah, I haven't updated in almost 2 weeks. Hmmm... well, last week the Dunrobin Y Camp called me for I think the 5th time since December (last year they told me to make sure I let them know before December if I want a job there again :P). Those who know me semi-well will know how I vowed never to work there ever again, on account of the SHYTE pay ($3.24 an hour), the completely unfairly organized and frankly enraging temporary layoffs (losing me about 1/3 of my final pay, and with what I WAS getting paid, I needed all I could get), and... yeah that's about it, but it's pretty substantial reasoning for NEVER WORKING THERE AGAIN. Anyways, I accepted the job. There's an unexpected twist, I'll bet you... saw that coming cuz you might already know. I do have justification though, that justification being that it's the only job that has enough flexibility to allow me to work just for the month of August. This is necessary for two reasons: one being that I might have to take summer school, and the second being that I really need to get my business going and I'll need all the time I can get. It's also a guaranteed job, they're desperate for staff to come back. Ha. Well, sort of guaranteed... if the camper attendance doesn't go down at the beginning of August. Sigh.

I also have a math tutor now, my probable-soon-to-be boss. Yeah, when he phoned asking me to come back to the Y (he's camp director this year, meaning I'd have a different boss than last year; another reason why I'm not so-against working there again) and I asked him if it would be possible to work just during August, and he asked me why and he offered to tutor me so I wouldn't have to come to summer school. I can assume that he's doing this partly to have me working there all summer, but unless he's willing to pay me what I'm paying him right now... that's still not gunna happen (sucka). Anydoodles, I met him at the Mlakabluaghshwingy Centre last Saturday. He's incredibly nice and a REALLY good teacher, he makes things seem so much simpler than Mr. Gallagher does. And he gives analogies and real-life examples and applications for everything he possibly can, which is awesome (a vending machine's a function, but a gumball machine isn't, who knew?).

After my first tutoring session, I walked over to Centrum and Vic found me in Wal-Mart! She violently forced me to come over to her place before going to Liz's by lassoing me at the ankles and holding me upside-down while tickling me with BURNING FIREY FEATHERS OF DOOM AND ETERNAL AGONY. Well, it was something vaguely like that. At her house we pianoed for a bit, and watched All Of Me (starring Steve Marting and Lily Tomlin). It wasn't that great of a movie, but it was entertaining. Especially the Tibetan monk... you can't beat a hairy Tibetan that can hardly speak English who "rings" while compulsively flushing the toilet. You just can't. Anydoodles, it was cool cuz I never get to hang out with just Vic and she's fun. So we went to Liz's and much fun was had there. My positive trait to negative trait ratio made me feel good on the inside, muchos warm fuzzios. And it was good to just get stuff out.

T'is all for now.

Stolen from Vic, so I suppose I'll have to do her. I mean hers. I'll have to do hers. I'll... get right on that.

Fill out and duplicate!
1. Who are you?
2. Are we friends?
3. When and how did we meet?
4. How have I affected you?
5. What do you think of me?
6. What's the fondest memory you have of me?
7. How long do you think we will be friends?
8. Do you love me?
9. Do you have a crush on me?
10. Would you kiss me?
11. Would you hug me?
12. Physically, what stands out about me?
13. Emotionally, what stands out about me?
14. Do you wish I was cooler?
15. On a scale of 1-10, how hot am I?
16. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.
17. Am I lovable?
18. How long have you known me?
19. Describe me in one word.
20. What was your first impression?
21. Do you still think that way about me now?
22. What do you think my weakness is?
23. Do you think I'll get married?
24. What makes me happy?
25. What makes me sad?
26. What reminds you of me?
27. If you could give me anything what would it be?
28. How well do you know me?
29. When's the last time you saw me?
30. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?
31. Do you think I could kill someone?
32.
Will & Grace rules; first Tim Curry, then Gene Wilder! You could hardly get any better. Gene Wilder even stayed in Willy Wonka character... he said "I'd like to thank you from the heart of my bottom- wait, strike that- reverse." That made me smile. Willy Wonka should be king.

Blueagh, this week went by SO SLOWLLKXBAUZAYLAUSBAJY- *cough* slowly. Especially Monday and Tuesday. I can't even remember anything that happened early this week... last weekend was fun though, Josh and I watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory :D . And part of Edward Scissorhands, which was awesome but I was picked up before it ended (no, I hadn't seen it before). Can't remember Sunday. Oh yeah, I went over to Alex's and we started the script for Teen Philosophy Squad which we're filming this weekend, and watched about an hour and 1/2 of Battle Royale! I've got to see the rest of that. It kicked ass. *UNCHRONOLOGICALIFY'D!!* The rest of the week was pretty uneventful. I painted my toenails. I met a leprechaun, his name's Tom. He's one of my dad's airplane buddies. He's shorter than I am and has red hair and a beard- quite obviously a leprechaun. Hehe... my dad installed special plane pedals for him so he could reach. Ah, the hardships of us short people.

Fell in love with 2 more Muse songs, Citizen Erased and Darkshines. Awesome. And amazing... amawesome-awazing. Supacool. New Muse background. I've almost made a hobby out of making LJ layouts, I've done about 6 just for fun over the past week. Imma love image arts :) . Speaking of which, there's no media arts next year! Gah, I'm so blueaghed. That would've been the supacoolest course, but not enough people wanted to take it. Sigh, I'm disappointed in people.

I want tea.

I FOUND MY SHEET MUSIC FOR RHAPSODY IN BLUE!!!!

Musical MASTERPIECE.

Ahh... I've completely fallen in love with jazz piano. George Gershwin and George Shearing are my jazz heroes. If I'm not the only one who loves jazz piano and somebody has any good stuff to recommend, that would be muchos awesome (anybody? ANYBODY?!).

I also discovered that I have Rachmaninoff music, courtesy of the kind people who owned my piano before I did (they gave me all their music along with it, pretty sweet deal). I swear I almost orgasmed when I found that. It looks too advanced though... new project for Lalex (I believe in me! I believe!).

Nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh nun car!

Nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh TUESDAY! I had a good day (not that that's anything unusual). I'll tell you about it as soon as I remember it.

...

Ah yes. Media studies! Alex and I finished designing the Teen Philosopher Squad. Best squad EVER. Thomas The Alien and Kant are the best; Thomas being Plato, with a beard and a toga (and his skateboard, of course), and Kant being the robot from Issue #1 who *VOIP'D!!* So-and-so ("Kirstin, you look burnt, or DEAD.") The robot's cool cuz he has one of those old curly white wigs.

Then English. Half an hour or so of which was spent outside because of the fire alarm! Woo and yay! And he didn't check homework to see if our essay outlines were done. Excellent. But he said I shouldn't use the outline I was going to use; I spent 10 minutes or so debating with him about whether or not Macbeth can be interpretted as a social commentary on masculinity equaling power, and that power is a social expectation for "real men"; but when combined with Macbeth's natural ambition, it can also equal violence and turmoil. Mr. Risk said I had good points but thAT I WAS AH ENOUGH WITH THE CAPSLOCK going off on too much of a tangent. But he also said that I'd probably have another opportunity to use something along the lines of this thesis, so that's good. And now that I've posted it here, I can refer to this in case I forget.

Nothing happened for the rest of the afternoon, but I will say that if I ever hear the words "only a 95" one more time, Imma go kung fu on the ass of whoever said it.

Stay'd after school with Alex to work on our PSA! Gah, you know you've been watching too much Teen Girl Squad when "'d"s accidentally slip into your everyday language. Anydoodles, we got pretty much all of our actual filming done, there's just a ton of editing left to do. But Mrs. White actually said "forget about the due date, just make sure you have it complete before the end of the semester." 'Oly crap! Anyways, did that, then we went to the music room with Josh and messed around with pianos, timpanis and violins. Alex plays the violin beautifully, it sounds like an old door being thrown open and closed with a cat jammed in between the hinges. Probably better than I could do though... ... sigh. Alex was eventually picked up, and Josh and I went to the park and laid <s>each other</s> in the grass under the tree for a while, t'was nice.

I got picked up at 5:30. I saw a car full of nuns on the way home.

VOIP
